Why was Sparrow Story written?
To help people everywhere feel the dynamism of the gospel – and be touched by the love and justice of God. More a news bulletin or adventure story than a history lesson!
Why a sparrow?
Nobody knows: it just happened! Suddenly the sparrow was there and the story began to unfold. And having a bird’s eye view can be useful when you need to see what’s going on.
Where is Sparrow Story set?
The action takes place in the present-day Middle East. No one country is identified, but most of the stories come from real life.
What about the Bible?
Sparrow Story is the Gospel told for today. But if you go and look at the four gospels in the Bible you will see the essential words of Jesus have not been changed – though some of the settings are certainly different!
Who wrote Sparrow Story?
A guy with a passionate commitment to the Kingdom of God. David Rhodes, an ex-journalist, was ordained in 1972. He has spent much of the last few years working with homeless people. Sparrow Story, like his other best-selling books, takes us to the heart of faith and helps us explore the meaning of life today.
